A day around Caddo Lake.

Karnack, Uncertain, Big Pines Lodge, Pine Island RV Park, Johnson's Ranch and Shady Glade.

I love the lake, the water, the people and the local businesses. Here's my November 4 trip and why I want to serve East Texas.

  19. 00:01:21 and gone left at this little turn, go left. Go to see Big Pines. It's about a mile down this
  20. 00:01:26 road right here, right on the river. You can't go wrong. All right?
  21. 00:01:29 Now, if you keep going around and going towards Uncertain, you've got Shady Glade. Great place to eat as well. I personally
  22. 00:01:35 love the hamburgers inside of there. I also like going down to the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is great as well.
  23. 00:01:40 Lots of food to choose from down here. Go see them. Either go left or go right,
  24. 00:01:44 but support small businesses down here. Come see the lake and the natural resources. Go out there
  25. 00:01:49 and enjoy some fishing with your family. Enjoy this sun, but help us protect it as well. That's

  44. 00:03:08 Want to come out here and go camping? Pine Island RV Park right beside Big Pines Lodge. Come out here and
  45. 00:03:14 stay for a little while. You've got access directly to the river. There's boat ramps all throughout
  46. 00:03:18 here that you can get access to the river, but you can come over here and stay. Pine Island RV Park,
  47. 00:03:23 come out here and see them, spend some money, spend some time. Big Pines right across there. You're going to love this place.
  48. 00:03:28 East Texas, follow me as we go into Uncertain. Population,
  49. 00:03:32 85. If that, okay, it may not even be 85, but as you can see behind me, welcome to Caddo Lake.
  50. 00:03:39 This is my favorite, favorite place in the world, Caddo Lake, the only natural lake in Texas.
  51. 00:03:46 And when you see it, it looks like something from South Louisiana, like the swamps of South
  52. 00:03:50 Louisiana, but right here in East Texas, and you really can't get it anywhere else. And then by
  53. 00:03:54 the way, the sun goes down with the cypress trees and the Spanish moss. It's just something from another world.
  54. 00:04:01 All right, so I'm here at Johnson's Ranch. It's the oldest inland marina in Texas, man.
  55. 00:04:06 I love this spot. It's a staple of the Uncertain and Caddo Lake community.
  56. 00:04:11 I love it. I love Caddo Lake. I love Uncertain. I love the people out here. I want to serve it even more, and I want to save this place.
  57. 00:04:16 One of my most favorite places in the world, Shady Glade Cafe, and just being in Shady
  58. 00:04:21 Glade down here, I love it. I love the sun. It goes right there through the back trees,
  59. 00:04:26 through the RV park at Shady Glade, and it just gives you an amazing view of the lake first
  60. 00:04:32 thing in the morning with the sun going down and with it coming straight up through those trees.
  61. 00:04:36 You can't beat the view out here first thing in the morning, and every morning is different.
  62. 00:04:42 It's like he's got a paintbrush out here, but once again, this way of life is threatened right now.
  63. 00:04:48 It's not going to be around for you to enjoy forever if we allow what happened. Last night,
  64. 00:04:54 the state of Texas turning blue, if we allow that to drip down into our counties and cities around
  65. 00:05:00 here, including places like Karnack and Uncertain, Caddo Lake, this beautiful lake, and places like
  66. 00:05:05 Shady Glade, they're going to be gone forever if we don't preserve that East Texas, and that's what I'm here to do.
